Introducing TgCash!

Postby tgfcoder » January 18th, 2015, 1:19 am

Hello friends and forumites,

There is a new feature being released today that brings together a number of ideas that have been floating around in one form or another. A new form of currency has been launched for Tgforums: TgCash. Many of you are probably familiar with paid-currency type systems in free games, this is going to be similar. As a growing forum, we need to continue to pour in love to make it bigger and more awesome. I'm often spending a lot of my spare time working on forum features and generally trying to make sure everyone is getting something genuinely useful out of Tgforums. And, many of our council members and diligent forumites have helped in many ways volunteering their time and effort to contribute. With that said, a real site does cost real money and hopefully with the introduction of a paid currency, we have more options for expansion. Purchasing TgCash is completely optional and choosing not to will not degrade your experience of Tgforums. It is a option for those who want to give something back to Tgforums, that helps us as well as them, since it goes towards something they can have on their account.

Consider TgCash to be in an early stage. There are a few new goodies with this release, namely avatar frames and a Badge Configurator item in the shop. There is also a new bank system that you should go check out. You can read about that in this thread. For any problems, please contact me. I will be able and happy to sort out any problems you come across in the system.

We have removed the Donate button. You will receive the Image [Supporter] badge when you purchase TgCash.

There are a few other items added into the shop that can be bought with cash too e.g. Wheel of Opulence ticket and Santa's Delight Scratchcard.

The pricing points of TgCash are as follows:

$2 for 2,000 TgCash (1k/$1)
$5 for 5,000 + 500 Bonus TgCash (1.1k/$1)
$10 for 10,000 + 1,500 Bonus TgCash (1.15k/$1)
$20 for 20,000 + 5,000 Bonus TgCash (1.25k/$1) + Premium Donator status

* Purchasing $20 of TgCash will reward the user with Premium donator rewards: Premium Donator status below user rank, Premium Donator user color, Free bank account upgrade to Ultimate Member Plus (regular cost: 7,000 TgCash) (This may be changed in the future.)

Please note: purchasing smaller amounts that add up to $20 will not give the reward.

It is my sincere hope that introducing a payment system will bring more power into users' hands in shaping Tgforums. Artists, coders, designers, infrastructure and maintenance all cost something (time and/or money) and with 100% of net profits going back into Tgforums, you can be sure that you are contributing to a better forum for everyone.

To purchase TgCash, just click "Purchase TgCash" from the Portal menu.

Thank you for reading this huge post, hopefully things will all go smoothly. I'm all ears to your suggestions and comments. ;VVP

Looks closer to a brown-ish mustard color.
